Privacy Policy
Youlala is a Chrome extension that flags surprising clauses in terms of service and license agreements. It is built to work entirely on your device. This policy explains what it does with information.
The short version
Youlala does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or browsing data. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads.
What Youlala reads
- Page content. On pages you visit, Youlala checks the page (address, title, headings, and text) to decide whether it looks like a terms of service or EULA. This check runs locally in your browser and nothing is recorded.
- Terms text you choose to review. When you click “Review these terms” or “Review this page”, Youlala extracts the terms text and analyzes it with Chrome's built-in, on-device AI model. The text is processed on your computer and is never sent to Youlala or any third party.
What Youlala stores
To make repeat visits instant, Youlala saves analysis results (the flagged clauses, keyed by a fingerprint of the terms text) in your browser's local extension storage. It keeps at most 200 results. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you remove the extension.
Chrome's built-in AI
Youlala uses Chrome's built-in Prompt API, which runs a model that Chrome downloads and manages on your device. Youlala does not control that model or its download. Your use of Chrome is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy.
Permissions
- Read pages you visit (content script on all sites): needed to detect terms pages automatically and extract their text for on-device review.
- Storage: used only for the local results cache described above.
Children
Youlala does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
